Our team of GPs here offer mental health care plans. We have a doctor who specializes in hypnotherapy and this is often a service you can access here. We have another two doctors who specialize in mental health and one of them offers psychological services through their additional training in Focused Psychological Strategies – the modality of treatment they provide is cognitive behavioural therapy and interpersonal therapy.
Our doctors provide a full range of care: chronic disease management, paediatric/children’s health, women’s health (including menopause, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding and more), men’s health, heart disease prevention, immunisations, skin cancer checks, skin cancer removal, iron infusions, ear microsuction, complex mental health, weight loss management and more. We have on site services including dietitian and podiatrist, pharmacist for home medication reviews. We have paediatricians in the same clinic who we can refer to for seamless care. We have an otolarygologist/ENT surgeon as well and a visiting gastroenterologist. Please see our main page for more information on our colleagues.
Our doctors are trained to use equipment to perform ear microsuction. Instead of the usual method of syringing, where water is pushed to rinse wax out, our doctors use specialized equipment to visualize your ear canal to use gentle suction to remove wax. We found this technique to be safer and generally more comfortable than syringing. This technique can also remove things beyond wax that gets stuck in your ear. This equipment are very expensive, highly specialised, and is normally used by Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeons.
Our doctors and nurses are trained to provide iron infusions at Casey City Health. This service is not bulk billed by our GPs but consultations to discuss if it is necessary are. Please speak with the receptionist regarding the cost or the doctor on the day of the consultation.
We provide skin checks and our GPs have had further training to be thorough and accurate. This is a head-to-toe assessment with a device called a dermatoscope that zooms in to see skin spots more accurately and they can also take pictures through it to keep in your file. Our GPs can remove spots that are concerning by performing biopsies in the clinic following the identification of concerning spots of the skin. Please speak to the doctor regarding costs associated with removals/biopsies.
Casey City Health is equipped to see patients with possible fractures, broken bones and open wounds. We have on site radiology during the day to do x-rays. We have plastering equipment if we identify fractures to make a cast if needed. If you have an open wound that may need stitches our doctors can assess you on the day and if needed are trained to close wounds and arrange ongoing follow-up with us to remove the stitches.
