Travelling overseas can be very risky for your health and safety, potentially ruining your holiday! Therefore, it is very important to protect yourself by being prepared and get good travel advice and vaccinations beforehand.

Our doctors regularly receive training to provide up-to-date travel advice. In particular, Dr Richard Shawyer had lived in Africa for many years and has a Masters Degree in Tropical Medicine. He is also an accredited Yellow Fever vaccinator. Our clinic provide competitive prices on all travel vaccines for your convenience. Prices for vaccines may change slightly without notice (we charge the same price our supplier charge us!).

We strongly recommend you make an appointment for a thorough assessment, complete travel advice, and of course, your vaccinations at least a month before you plan to travel overseas. Please bring your itinerary so we can properly assess your needs, as different regions of a particular country have different risks. Travel diseases and risks change all the time so it is important to keep up-to-date with the latest travel information!

Please print and complete the following Pre-Travel Medical Questionnaire beforehand. It will greatly assist us in your pre-travel assessment.

Some things you want to consider:

1. Travelling to countries with lower standard food or water quality: Contaminated food and water will increase your risk of infections like gastroenteritis, hepatitis A, and some parasites.

2. Travelling to rural or wilderness areas where you are likely to be exposed to farm animals and wildlife: Many of these animals carry rabies, as well as various other diseases carried by ticks and mosquitoes.

3. Spending time outdoors, in forests or jungles, being exposed to mosquitoes: Mosquitoes can carry many serious diseases such as Malaria, Dengue Fever, and Yellow Fever.
