Health Assessments

Health Checks and Assessments are critical in chronic disease prevention and management

Skin Cancer Checks

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in Australia. Dermatoscopy is a very specialised skill in skin cancer detection involving a special “microscope“ to examine moles and skin lesions. This method increases the rate of early skin cancer detection, especially for pigmented lesions. Early detection will help to reduce the morbidity and mortality rates from dangerous skin cancers like melanomas.

Our doctors have received specialised training in Dermatoscopy as well as surgical techniques to remove skin cancers. We recommend you have a skin cancer check at least once a year.

We use state-of-the-art dermatoscopic and photographic equipment to monitor skin lesions for more accurate detection of any type of skin cancers. We also provide a wide spectrum of surgical and non-surgical treatment options,.

Why have a Health Assessment?

Prevention is better than cure! Health assessments allow our doctors and nurses to obtain an accurate history, perform an examination, and perform tests (.e.g. ECG machine, 24hr holter monitor, 24hr BP monitor, spirometry testing, dermoscopy)) and refer for blood and other tests if required to determine your risk (or sometimes make a diagnoses) of any chronic medical diseases. , These Health Assessments are especially important in certain age groups (e.g. 4yo, 45-49yo, >75yo). For those at high risk, a management program can be introduced. The government also provide free programs and services (e.g. the LIFE program where you get to see a dietitian, etc.) to coach you to have a healthy lifestyle.

GPMP (General Practice Management Plan)

General Pratice Management Plan

General Practice Management Plans (GPMP, formally called Enhanced Care Plans) is a form of health assessment for chronic medical diseases in order to determine the best treatment and management strategy. A “Team Care Assessment“ could also be arranged to allow government funding for patients to see Allied Health Providers to assist in the management of their chronic disease, such as a diabetes educator, dietitian, physiotherapist, etc. Some of these chronic medical conditions include:

• Diabetes
• Heart Disease
• Asthma
• Chronic Obstructive Airway Disease (COAD)
• Hypertension
• High Cholesterol or Lipids
• Obesity
• Chronic Pain / Fibromyalgia
• Chronic Arthritis (e.g. Rheumatoid arthritis)
• Chronic disabilities – congenital or non-congenital
• Developmental Delays (e.g. speech, language, motor, behaviour, etc.)

Childhood Immunisations

The Australian Government requires that all children must complete their immunisations in a timely manner. Our GPs provide all the required childhood immunisations, as well as “catch-up“ immunisations in older kids. We inform the Immunisation Register of all immunisations straight away. Childcare, family day care, pre-school, and school services will require your child be up-to-date with their childhood immunisations.

If your child has had immunisations overseas, please bring written evidence of these for us so we could update your child’s immunisations with the Immunisation Register and provide any “catch-up“ immunisations required.
